Kevin Cronin has over 45 years’ experience working as a Landscape Architect. His extensive experience spans through a broad range of Landscape Architectural and Urban Design projects throughout Australia, China and the Asia Pacific region. His experience covers both public and private enterprise projects, including Structure Planning, Landscape analysis and evaluation and Master Planning through Concept Design, Design Development, Documentation and Contract Administration.
Kevin completed his qualification in Environmental Design in 1983 and Landscape Architecture from the University of Canberra in 1988 and undertook his Landscape Institute exams in 1990. He is currently a Registered Landscape Architect with the Australian Landscape Institute.
At the start of his career Kevin worked in Canberra as a student and graduate landscape architect from 1981 to 1987 and in Perth from 1987 to 1993 for several of the leading Landscape Practices in Australia. In 1993 he opened Cronin Mileham Design Pty Ltd in Perth and while working in the local West Australian market commenced working though out the Asia Pacific Region, Taiwan and China. In 1990 CMD changed the company name to Urban Landscape Planners (ULP) and subsequently merged with Belt Collins Australia in 1997. In 1999 ULP/ Belt Collins Australia was bought out by the managers and subsequently rebranded as Place Design Group.
Kevin was one of 5 founding Directors of PLACE Design Group Pty Ltd, which was established in 2001. He was responsible for the establishment of their four offices in China and the Kuala Lumpur office over their 15 years in the region. He was integral in the company’s expansion and the development of the company brand image throughout China and Malaysia. Kevin resigned and sold his shareholding from Place Design Group in late 2016.
In early 2017 Kevin was contracted to manage Attractions International Pte Ltd China, restructuring the company operational systems and revamp their production capabilities. He also was the Lead Project Manager on several Resort and Water based recreation park projects in China, Malaysia and Vietnam. He also worked as a contracted Senior Landscape Architect / Project Manager for PTE Landscape (Shenzhen) and worked as a consultant Landscape Architect for Phuket project Aquella in Phuket, through his company Ink Dragon Design and Management.
From 2019 to 2022 Kevin returned to Australia and was contracted as the Landscape Section Manager with TCCS in Canberra, overseeing the review and approval of both Private and Government Landscape Projects.
Now in 2025 Kevin has formed Peddle Thorp Architecture and Design Pty Ltd (PTAD) with Peter Dworjanyn. Both have worked extensively together in China from 2000 and plan on focusing on both Architectural and Landscape Architectural projects locally and internationally.
Kevin has worked extensively throughout Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, India, Middle East, Fiji, Spain, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. After so many years of work in the frontier and in extensive categories, Kevin has not only accumulated a great deal of professional experience in design work itself but also grown to be an excellent team leader with abundant management experience.
Kevin’s has specialist skills in leading multi-disciplinary teams from Concept Design through Documentation, Project Management and Contract Administration and specialises in Hard works design resolution and project management.
